FSA commander confirms deployment of troops to Azerbaijan

A of the commanders of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) confirmed the deployment of troops by this group to the Republic of Azerbaijan which is at war with Armenia.

"Forces affiliated with the Free Syrian Army have been transferred to the Republic of Azerbaijan to take part in the war," said Ziad Haji Obaid, one of the commanders of the FSA, in a statement confirming the news of the deployment of troops to Azerbaijan.

"These military forces are going to Azerbaijan because of their poor economic conditions so that they can make a living," Haji Obaid told Rudaw.

He further added that “in areas such as Afrin, Sari Kani and other areas, the economic situation is very bad and these families are not able to make a living. Turkey provides economic assistance to more than 70,000 troops. We are ready to fight in any region for the sake of Turkey's security and interests. We also defend our interests in order to achieve our goals."
