Turkish FM, UN chief discuss 'action plan' signed with YPG

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu and U.N. Secretary General Antonio Guterres discussed the U.N.'s signing of "an action plan" with the PKK group's Syrian affiliate the People's Protection Units (YPG) in a phone call Friday, diplomatic sources said.

The two top politicians touched on the U.N. Special Representative for Children and Armed Conflict Virginia Gambia's meeting with PKK commander Ferhat Abdi Sahin, who commands the so-called Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) dominated by the organization of YPG, and signing of an "action plan" at the U.N. Office in Geneva.
The U.N. over the weekend signed an agreement with the PKK without the knowledge of U.N. member states, Turkey said.
Proving the point, the YPG hailed the U.N. agreement, while it fittingly drew condemnation from Turkey, a sovereign member state of the international body.
In the protest notes, Turkey's permanent mission to the U.N. office at Geneva documented that prominent PKK commander Sahin was sought by the Interpol with a red notice.
