Masoud Barzani, Najmaddin Karim meet in Erbil
The Leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) Masoud Barzani received the former governor of Kirkuk, Najmaddin Karim, in his office in Erbil on Monday.
They discussed the latest political developments in Kurdistan Region, Iraq, and the Middle East, according to a press release.
Karim arrived back in Kurdistan Region last week after reports of his arrest in Lebanon.
A source from Karim’s office previously told BasNews that the reports were baseless, and that the Kurdish politician is residing in Erbil for now from where he organizes his political activities.
Karim’s position in support of 2017 Kurdistan’s independence referendum angered the Iraqi government which later ousted him in a retaliatory action.
