Arms depot explodes near mountain in Erbil
An arms depot exploded near Safin Mountain in Erbil province on Friday, April 26, according to NRT.
The report added that the ammunition depot was owned by a munitions trader.
A short circuit is believed to be responsible for starting a fire that caused the explosion, according to witnesses.
Civil defense teams had difficulty reaching the venue because roads in the area were congested with Friday picnic traffic.
No casualties were reported.
Last summer, three arms depots caught fire in the Kurdistan Region.
