U.S. asks Turkey to limit operation against Syrian Kurds
The deputy defense minister of the U.S. has urged Turkey to limit its operation in the Syrian Kurdish city of Afrin and exercise self-restraint.
According to the U.S. defense ministry website, Dana White reiterated in a press conference that Turkey’s invasion in Syria would diminish focus on the fight against the Islamic State (IS) and restrict its invasion.
Turkey is a NATO alley of Turkey but issues are different at different times and we are cooperating on removing border attacks, je added.
The Spokesman of the ministry, Kenth MacKenzi told the conference that the U.S. denounces any PKK attack against Turkey.
Answering a question if Afrin war could extend into Manbij, another Kurdish-controlled city in northern Syria, he stated that no movement has been noticed in this regard.
