Minister of Interior: Security and border cooperation between Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan will develop

According to Kurd Press, from the Information Center of the Ministry of Interior, Iskander Momeni arrived in Baku with an official welcome from the Minister of Interior of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Velayat Ayuzov.

On his arrival in Baku, the Minister of Interior stated that the relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan are long-standing relations with numerous affinities and commonalities, and said: The two countries have cultural, religious, and historical commonalities and have long land borders; the policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran is a policy of neighborhood and attention to neighbors and the region.Momani, who visited the country at the official invitation of the Interior Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, added: "Developing relations with neighbors is a priority of the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the Republic of Azerbaijan also has a special place in Iran's foreign policy. Naturally, security issues, traffic, combating organized crime, immigration and drugs will be on the agenda during this trip."

Emphasizing that the relations between the two countries are at a good level, he added: "Border security depends on the interaction, cooperation and coordination of the countries on both sides of the border." Meetings with the Interior Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Minister of Emergency Situations and other officials of this country are on the agenda with the aim of developing bilateral cooperation, including security and border relations.The Minister of Interior is accompanied on this trip by Sajidinia, Head of the National Crisis Management Organization, Emami Yeganeh, Governor of Ardabil, Haghshenas, Governor of Gilan, Rezazadeh, Member of the Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, Khajehnejad, Advisor to the Minister and Head of the Information Center, and Javaheri, Advisor to the Minister and Head of International Affairs of the Ministry of Interior.
