Four PKK militants killed in Turkey bombardment
Four members of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) were killed in Turkey air strikes in Kurdistan region in northern Iraq, Turkey’s Defence Ministry said on Friday.
In a statement, the ministry said air strikes were launched in Haftanin, Avashin, and Zap regions.
The PKK, considered a terrorist organisation by Turkey, the United States and the European Union, fights for autonomy in Turkey’s largely Kurdish southeast since 1984. The organisation also has fighters based in Kurdistan region.
