Turkish forces to withdraw from Iraq by the end of this year
According to Kurdistan Press, Homam Hamoudi, the speaker of the Supreme Islamic Council of Iraq, said in a meeting that one of the positive consequences of "Sovereignty Day" is the withdrawal of all coalition and NATO forces from Iraq and an agreement for the withdrawal of Turkish forces from the country's territory by the end of this year.
He also announced the disarmament and end of the presence of Turkish and Iranian opposition groups in Iraq and the development of the country's air defense capabilities.
Regarding the issue of foreign borrowing, Homam Hamoudi also said that this is a sensitive issue and makes the country dependent on the policies of the World Bank. According to him, the Coordination Framework opposes foreign borrowing and the parliament will not allow such an action.
The speaker of the Supreme Islamic Assembly of Iraq also stated regarding the relations between the Coordination Framework and the government: "Ali Zaidi, the Prime Minister, is the choice of the Coordination Framework, and the Framework is responsible before God and the people for formulating views and policies based on the law and the constitution, and Zaidi is responsible for implementing them through government tools."
In another part of his speech, he considered Zaidi's foreign trips a sign of respect and acceptance of Iraq, and said that these trips carry the message that Iraq is an inseparable part of the Arab world, is committed to its relations with neighboring countries, and has a vision that contributes to strengthening regional stability.
