Iraqi President says draft to annul votes is unconstitutional
Iraqi Presidency Fuad Masoum warned on Wednesday that the annulment of votes from recent parliamentary election would be a breach against the country’s constitution.
According to BasNews the warning was issued in an official letter addressed to the Iraqi electoral commission after the parliament passed a draft asking for the annulment of expat votes and manual recounting of 10% of votes.
The letter from Iraqi president made it clear that the request is against the constitution and commission’s regulations itself.
