London backs Erbil-Baghdad deal
British Ambassador to Iraq stressed in a meeting with Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani that London backs deals made between Erbil and Baghdad.
John Wilks told Barani that Britain backs a strong Kurdistan Region in Iraq, Rudaw reported.
The latest developments between the region and Baghdad were discussed in the meeting where the British envoy expressed his happiness to see Baghdad sanctions and restrictions on the region lifted.
Barzani, for his side, welcomed Baghdad move in lifting flight bans on the region and sending the salaries of the government clerks, calling for boosting with Britain.
The Kurdish PM undrescored that the international anti-IS coalition should make a plan, in cooperation with Erbil and Baghdad, in order to prevent the reoccurance of terror in the region.
