New Generation leader in Kurdistan Region arrested

New Generation Movement President Shaswar Abdulwahid has been arrested after a warrant was issued by a court in Sulaimani.

Abdulwahid was arrested on charges related to Articles 229 and 434 of the Iraqi penal code.

Following the arrest warrant, Abdulwahid arrived in court to appear before a judge.

According to NRT the court’s police have transferred Abdulwahid to the custody of the Sulaimani International Airport police, after he gave testimony before the judge.
