Salary withholding system will end this month: Nechirvan Barzani

Kurdistan Regional Government Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani announced that the system would be ended as of this month

Barzani made the remarks after a Kurdistan Region’s Council of Minister meeting on Friday, March 8, which discussed the issue of the withholding salary system and afterwards.

KRG announced saving system in 2016 in response to the ongoing economic crisis and sparked widespread popular angers.

After the 2019 federal budget law was passed, many had hoped that the withholding system would be abandoned.
