Haider al-Abadi to make visit to Sulaimani this week, official says
Iraqi PM Haider al-Abadi will visit the Kurdish province of Sulaimani in the coming two days for the purpose of parliamentary election campaign, head Maliki-led Victory (Nasr) Coalition in Sulaymani, Ibrahim Rashid, told Alsumaria News on Tuesday.
Abadi's coalition has opened an office in the in the Kurdish province in hopes of winning a proportion of Kurdish people's votes as some Kurdish candidates are running on the Iraqi electoral list for the upcoming elections, BasNews reported.
Rashid urged the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) to ensure the security of his office in the city.
Iraqi parliamentary election is set for May 12 in which a total of 88 electoral factions, made up of 6,904 candidates are running for 329 parliamentary seats.
