Erbil, Baghdad delegations to discuss reopening Erbil-Kirkuk highway
Delegations from Erbil, the capital of Kurdistan Region, and the Iraqi central government in Baghdad are currently in Kirkuk province to discuss the issue of the reopening and repairing the Erbil-Kirkuk highway, an official said.
Speaking to BasNews Hama Regr, a Peshmerga commander in Kirkuk, stated that the two delegations are expected to meet in the city on Tuesday evening.
The main road between the two cities was destroyed in October, last year when Iraqi army and the militias of Hashd al-Shaabi entered the Kurdish disputed territories in a military incursion.
