Kurdistan Region opens new border crossing with Iran

Iraq has officially opened a new border crossing with Iran in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, IRNA reported.

An official said the Siran Band-Baneh crossing that straddles Iraqi Kurdistan Region and Iran’s Kurdistan Province will be the new official border crossing between Iran and the Kurdish region in the north of Iraq, increasing the number of official crossings in Iraqi Kurdistan Region to four.

The new crossing will be used for both passengers as well as shipping goods to and from Iraq.
