Iran, Iraq stress support for Syria

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his Iraqi counterpart Mohammad Al-Hakim stressed that both countries back attempts to help Syria regain its previous regional role.
"Both Iran and Iraq share same vision about Syria’s territorial integrity, fight against terrorism as well the country’s presence in regional and international mechanisms,"Zarif was quoted by IRNA as saying on Sunday in Baghdad.
Zarif appreciated Iraq’s role in Syrian resolution, saying “the Islamic Republic of Iran supports Iraq’s role and efforts in this regard'.
Al-Hakim, for his side, stated that the two officials discussed Syria “extensively."
He underscored that both Baghdad and Tehran share the same view about fighting terrorism and IS in Syria, the country’s territorial integrity and Damascus’ return to the Arab League.
