Gunmen attack Erbil governorate
Three unidentified individuals launched an armed attack on the Erbil Governorate building on Monday morning, July 23, killing one policeman.
According to NRT shots were heard and the governorate building was surrounded by security forces.
One of the attackers reportedly blew himself up inside the building.
NRT quoted a number of Erbil Provincial Council members as saying that all of the attackers have been killed.
According to her sources a worker, who had been trapped in the Erbil Governorate building, was rescued by security forces.
The identity of the attackers and their motive is unknown.
