Muqtada Sadr is against coalition with PUK: daily

The leader of Sadr Movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, is against any form of coalition with the parties, including the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK).

According al-Arabi al-Jadid daily, a former leading official of the movement has stated that Sadr does not want to repeat the mistake that Muslim Brotherhood made in Egypt and therefore is against any form of coalition with the State of Law Coailtion, Hashid al-Shaabi and the PUK.

Sadr Movement made a coalition with some parties in the Iraqi parliamentary elections on May 12. The coalition, Saeron, won the largest number of votes in the polls.

The daily quoted the official as adding that Sadr is busy deciding on forming a coalition with other parties and lines.
