Sanandaj- The 26th anniversary of the genocide of the Kurds, known as Anfal was commemorated in Sanandaj in the presence of activists.
Baghdad- In a push to assert its authority over Iraq's fractious oil sector, the federal Oil Ministry has stated its intention to seize crude, natural gas and fuel shipped outside the country without its approval and to prosecute offending companies.
Iran’s ambassador to Iraq Hassan Danaifar said in an interview that “logic and talks” were the only way to resolve the current crisis between Erbil and Baghdad, over troop deployments in the disputed territories. He added that Iran was talking to all sides for a peaceful resolution, and would try to prevent escalation of the crisis. Commenting on Syria, where President Bashar al-Assad’s regime is locked in a civil war with opposition forces, Danaifar said that the only solution to the crisis is “a non-military one.” Here is his interview with Rudaw:
