Turkey president lashes at Europe Islamophobia

Ankara- Turkey President Abdullah Gul criticized European countries for increasing Islamophobia, racism and Xenophobia among those nations. Writing a statement on Europe Day, Gul said: “European countries should prevent these threats to gain more ground, otherwise they would lead the countries to turn further into themselves and harm the universal values.”

Gul whose country is long trying to be a European Union member called on EU members to free themselves from worries about Turkey- EU negotiations.

As an EU member candidate, Turkey has tried for years to be an EU member but in vain.

The EU body members have refused the request because “the country’s human rights and democratic situation in not proper enough to gain the end.”

American known scholar, politician and linguist, Noam Chomsky however, said two years ago that the denial of the request is because Turkey is an Islamic country and it’s not very welcomed among the European members.
