Turkey warns of Syria intervention again
Mecca- Turkey President reiterated a warning on Thursday that Ankara might respond with military action if “it faces a terrorist threat” from Syria's north, referring to Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) militants that Turkey claims are controlling the Kurdistan of Syria.

“Terrorist organizations may attempt to exploit the situation in such difficult times, but they will not be allowed to do so,” Abdullah Gul told reporters in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, following a two-day extraordinary summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) that discussed Syria and the ways to lead the country out of the present conflict.

“Whatever action necessary will be taken if extensions of the PKK begin to pose a threat,” he added.

He further did not reiterated Ankara claims that Damascus government is arming PKK against Turkey, Zaman daily reported.

Turkey has recently been alarmed by the Kurdish control of five Syrian cities near the Turkish border by the Democratic Union Party (PYD) which Ankara says is an offshoot of PKK.

Releasing a statement on Wednesday, PKK declined its presence in Syria Kurdistan but said its militants are ready to go inside Syria if their existence is needed.

Turkey officials had earlier threatened to intervene in northern Kurdish regions of Syria after the Kurdish parties took control of those areas.
