Iraq and Kurdistan Region crisis to be resolved soon
Baghdad- An Iraqi legal official says he is counting on the results of the effort of the parliamentary committee to oil disputes between Baghdad and Kurdistan Region after visiting the Arbil Ministry of Natural Resources’ officials, adding that the crisis will be resolved in the two coming days.

“The crisis will be solved in the next two days as officials from the National Alliance and Kurdistan Region confirm that negotiation is the only possible solution to disputes over exporting Kurdistan Region’s crude oil into Turkey,” Tariq Hareb said.

Hareb ruled out the issue has reached a point that allocations of Arbil government from the general budget by the federal government is cut.

He assured: “The committee has absolute power to discuss the issue as all agreements are solved through legal and constitutional frameworks,” adding that he is optimistic about the issue.

A Baghdad energy committee delegation visited Kurdistan Region last week to hear about the disputes over Kurdistan Region’s crude oil exports to Turkey.

Oil disputes between Baghdad and Arbil were ignited after US oil major Exxon Mobil signed a six-part contract with Kurdistan Region in December last year.

The fuel was fanned as more companies arrived into the region.

Iraq then cut Kurdistan share of oil from the general budget and in retaliation Arbil started exporting crude oil to Turkey.
