Kurds have to be united in Baghdad, MP tells Kurdpress
Arbil- A Kurdish Coalition Parliament Member said Kurds in the Iraqi semi-autonomous region of Kurdistan have to keep their unity in the face of problems with the central government in Baghdad.

The lack of unity among Kurds, which they are the roots and causes of the disunity, over withdrawing confidence vote from Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, will negatively impact on their political position in Baghdad, Mahmoud Othman told Kurdpress.

Kurds needed to negotiate over the issue and after making necessary considerations sign agreements to fulfill the move; but the process has until now failed as a group of Kurds backs the bid but the other declines, the MP further said.

Denying any Parliament member’s negligence about the withdrawing attempt “as their authority is restricted,” Othman blamed Iraqi President, Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister and Iraq army chief as well as some senior Kurdish officials in Baghdad for not making enough attempt to solve the differences.

Accused of marginalizing minorities and monopolizing power in Baghdad by Iraqi main opposition al-Iraqiya List and many Kurdish officials, Maliki was attempted to be withdrawn by vote of confidence but the move doomed to fail due to lack of unanimity among the Prime Minister’s rivals.
