Official denies intra-KDP dispute over referendum
A Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) official denies there are disputes inside the KDP leaders, including the party’s leader and its deputy, over the referendum of the region set for September 25.

Rinas Jano told Baghdad al-Yaum that there are no disputes between the KDP leader and Kurdistan Region President Masoud Barzani and the KDP Deputy Leader Nechirvan Barzani over the referendum, adding that all of the region’s decisions are made after KDP political meetings and Masoud Barzani never makes unilateral decisions.

He added that speaking about disputes inside the KDP is a dream which will never come true.

Jano further denied any Saudi Arabia support to the referendum of the region, revealing that Riyadh has only sent financial support to the region.

He went on to add that reports over Riyadh’s political support to Erbil in holding the referendum is not true.
