KDP delegation visits Gorran in Sulaimani
A delegation from the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) visited the Change Movement (Gorran) in Sulaimani one day after the party elected its new leader.

The delegation headed by the KDP’s Leadership Council’s head in Sulaimani, Adham Barzani, visited Gorran Headquarters on Wednesday, July 26.

According to NRT Barzani said during a press conference the congratulations from the KDP Leader and Kurdistan Region President Masoud Barzani to the new general-coordinator, Omer Said Ali, was a message “to resolve the issues in the Kurdistan Region together.”

He added the delegation’s visit was to congratulate the newly elected leader of Gorran and the elected members of the Gorran Executive Council.

 “The unity of the Kurdish home must be preserved,” he continued.

Members of the Gorran Executive Council elected on Tuesday include the party’s new leader, Omer Said Ali, the Secretary of Gorran’s National Council, Jamal Haji Mohammed, the Secretary of Gorran’s Internal Chambers, Mohammed Tofiq Raheem, the Secretary of Gorran’s Regional Representatives, Othman Haji Mahmoud, the Secretary of Parliament’s Factions, Jalal Jawhar, and the Secretary of Gorran’s Public Relations, Shorish Haji.

Ali was chosen as the new General-Coordinator of Gorran during an election held in the movement’s headquarters in Sulaimani.

Masoud Barzani expressed congratulations by phone on Tuesday to Ali, wishing the election of the party’s new leaders would “become a factor of strengthening unity and integration towards solving issues.”

Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani also congratulated the newly elected General-Coordinator of the Change Movement, saying his election to the post is viewed with hope and optimism.
