No other excuse can justify longer closure of parliament: PUK official
A member of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) political office stated that no other excuse can justify the longer closure of the local parliament of the Kurdistan region and it has to be reopened as soon as possible.

Right now there is not any other problem to reopen the parliament and the attempt has to be conducted as soon as possible, Saadi Ahmed Pire said about the closure of the region’s parliament.

According to Rudaw he added that the PUK has held meetings with the Movement for Change (Gorran) for paving the way to reopen the parliament, continuing to say that we conveyed the messages and the stances of Gorran to the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and we hope that Kurdish officials in the region would use the golden opportunity well.

Ahmed Pire reiterated that the international community expects unity among the Kurds to plan and use the historic opportunity.

The Kurdish region has decided to hold a referendum on September 25 to ask its people of they want to remain as a part of Iraq or they want to have their own independent state.
