Iranian ambassador discusses bilateral ties with Iraqi, Italian officials
Iranian ambassador to Iraq, Iraj Masjedi reviewed regional, international issues in separate meetings with Italian envoy in Iraq and Deputy Foreign Minister of Iraq Nazar Khairallah.

During the meeting between Iranian and the Iraqi official Masjedi voiced congratulations on recent victories of Iraqi forces, IRNA reported.

Iraqi forces captured on June 29, the wrecked historic mosque of Mosul in which Daesh terrorist group proclaimed its self-styled ‘caliphate’ three years ago.

Taking the Grand al-Nuri Mosque gives a symbolic victory to the Iraqi forces who have been battling for more than eight months to re-capture Mosul.

The Iranian and the Italian ambassadors stressed on taking advantage of diplomatic ways to solve regional problems.

Both Iraqi and Italian diplomats also called for developing bilateral ties with Islamic Republic of Iran.
