KDP forces did not allow us to go to Erbil, Gorran deputy tells Kurdpress
A parliament lawmaker from the Movement for Change (Gorran) told Kurdpress that the forces of ruling Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) prevented him and a lawmaker from Islamic Community of Kurdistan (Komal) to Erbil, the capital of Kurdistan Region.

Gorran Lawmaker Ali Muhammad Salih and Komal Deputy Soran Omar were prevented from going to Erbil.

Muhammad Salih told Kurdpress that he and his family along with Soran Omer were returning Erbil in Tuesday evening but forces at the checkpoint to the city have prevented them from going into Erbil.

He also added that the forces have insulted Soran Omar, reiterating that the forces have prevented them on the order of leading member of the KDP.

Muhammad Salih also stated the recent negotiations between political parties in Kurdistan Region are not negotiations but they are attempts aiming at killing time and diverting attention from troubles in the region.

It is worth mentioning that forces in the checkpoint prevented in October 2015 Gorran Deputy and Parliament Speaker of Kurdistan Region, Yusuf Muhammad Sadiq, from returning to Erbil and parliament meetings have been suspended since the date.
