KDP and PUK politburos to meet in Erbil today
The ruling party of Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) are set to meet on Wednesday for discussions around their political ties and situation in the region.

According to KDP official website, the two party’s politburos will also discuss political deadlock in Kurdistan Region and possible solutions to the crisis, BasNews reported.

The meeting comes after Deputy PUK Secretary General Kosrat Rasoul issued a statement on Tuesday, calling on all Kurdish political parties to set their disputes aside for the best of the region.

He stressed out that overcoming the hardship requires unity and consensus between all major parties.

Rasoul, who also serves as Kurdistan Region Vice President, encourages a meeting between the top leaders of the five major Kurdish political parties as well as the establishment of various joint committees for finding solutions to the crises related to Kurdistan Region presidency, parliament, government and the people’s welfare.
