UN-Arab body envoy arrives in Tehran
Tehran the UN-Arab league special envoy to Syria, Kofi Annan arrived in Tehran late on Tuesday night.

The envoy that is in Tehran to talk to Iranian officials about Syria unrest was welcomed by Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hussein Amir Abdullahian upon his arrival at Tehran’s Mehrabad airport.

A former UN Secretary General is scheduled to hold meetings with President Mahmoud Ahmadi Nejad and foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi before a press conference on Wednesday, press TV reported.

Opposing to any foreign intervention in Syria, Tehran has urged all sides involved in the conflict to engage in dialogue.

Annan had earlier visited Syria and signed a six-plan deal with President Bashar al-Assad to withdraw forces from cities and busy surrounding areas by the end of Tuesday this week.

He also visited Turkey ands is due to go back to the country after his visit to Tehran ends.
